The history of bowling can be traced back over 7,000 years to ancient Egypt. The earliest known form of bowling was discovered in the grave of an Egyptian child buried in 5200 BC, which contained nine pieces of stone that were used as pins, and a ball made from grain husks covered in leather and bound with string. The ball would roll through an archway made of three pieces of marble.
